Automatic License Plate Reading (ALPR)
ALPR is commonly used to improve safety and security in urban areas.
Typically this requires a rugged computer to process video images from multiple ALPR cameras, and a separate router to connect to a secure network.
This two-box approach is more complex to manage and is challenging in space-constrained environments such as a patrol car.
TRX R2 is a server and dual LTE router in a single easy-to-deploy and easy-to-manage package.
It can host a third party ALPR solution in the form of a virtual machine and has been validated with the leading ALPR software providers. It can process hundreds of license plates per minute.
After recognizing a license plate, R2 can send that information to an operations center using either of the built-in LTE modems. R2’s SDWAN capability can route that information over Verizon, AT&T and FirstNet networks based on network bandwidth availability.
TRX R2 is a validated, rugged and compact ALPR solution. It provides a simple way to deploy ALPR technology to vehicle and roadside locations.
