Klas Telecom Participates in Cisco Premium Mobile Broadband and Connected Transportation Demonstrations at Cisco Connect 2016 in Madrid16 May 2016
Cisco Connect España 2016 was held on May 12 at Madrid’s Kinepolis, the world’s largest cinema complex located in Spain’s capital city. This annual event showcases both Cisco’s own products and services, along with those of its partners. Klas Telecom was invited by Cisco to attend as a Cisco Solution Technology Integrator (STI), and utilized the opportunity to present solutions from its Voyager and TRX Connected Transportation product lines. From Voyager, Klas Telecom demonstrated its small cell, deployable LTE solution, and from TRX, the company displayed its onboard communications systems.
The Voyager products included the Voyager 8, VoyagerVM and VoyagerCell 4GAP1000, which were run as part of a live battery-powered 4G LTE network demonstration during the one-day event. As a component of the Cisco Premium Mobile Broadband solution for Security services, the Voyager products were well received by visitors from both security and non-security sectors.
Fernando Núñez, an engineer for Klas Telecom who worked the show commented, “This event is the culmination of much hard work by Cisco, and it’s great that we have been given the opportunity to demonstrate the practical functionality and small form-factor of our Voyager products in such a collaborative environment. Klas Telecom has been working together with Cisco for a number of years to develop these bespoke Premium Mobile Broadband products, and it’s rewarding to receive so much positive interest at this show.”
In the Transportation sector, Cisco displayed Klas Telecom’s TRX products in its Connected Transportation stand. The display consisted of the TRX R2 Router/Server/Cellular Gateway, and the S26 Switch. Together, these products offer a route, compute, storage & switch solution to facilitate onboard Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as the ability to host applications such as video surveillance, IP-based onboard communications systems and passenger information displays. The certification of both these products to EN 50155 for Railway Applications made them a unique attraction at the event.
Klas Telecom Account Manager Brendan Fleming was also onsite at the event and said, “Our Rail Certified TRX R2 and TRX S26 products were shown alongside Cisco’s own Rail Certified hardware, which offered a complete end-to-end Cisco technology solution to prospective transportation and utility customers.”
Fleming further commented that with footfall of over 3,000 pre-registered guests during the day, this event was even more popular than the previous year, and is representative of the ongoing investment by Cisco in the Spanish market. He stated that Klas Telecom was delighted to be a part of the successful event, and that he looks forward to coming back next year.
